Stenzo Fabric and New Clearance Section

A small but amount of beautiful bolts of fabric arrived from the Netherlands and are listed in my shop. I am particularly fond of the red and white polka dot knit and the strawberry printed knit, but also keep eyeing all the wovens because they would make such wonderful dresses and skirts for summer.

I also am now offering items in the new clearance section. The prices are below cost so you truly are getting a wonderful deal :)

Over the weekend I started to sew Taja, but did not get very far because the children had it on their minds to go swimming and afterward I started reading the Mysterious Benedict Society to Finn and Ella. It is a GREAT book!! I had to read chapter after chapter until my eyes started rolling in my head and I stopped reading. But alas, was now too tired to sew as well.

Next weekend is definitely sewing time again for Mama :)

Have you tried out RONJA yet?

You know how I get Romy to agree to take pictures with me? A stick of peppermint gum will do the trick! And look, she also started to find her modeling poses, it really cracks me up :)

So I have never sewn the Ronja pattern by Farbenmix (eventhough this pattern has been around for a while) and since I am very, very fond of the skirt and pant combo patterns I gave it a try this weekend. It is SO easy to sew. The ruffles take a bit of time, but not too much and the fit is perfecto! I combined the pants with the Quiara shirt and Romy and I love how it all came out. For the pant part I used Angie Pants strech twill in blue. It is the perfect weight for summer pants and durable enough to hold up to lots of climbing and other ruff playing. Ronja can of course also be sewn simple without the skirt part.

Happy Easter!

... Although it looks like our Easter bunny ate all of our chocolates already :o) I am sorry, I know this has nothing to do with sewing or fabric, but I had so much fun painting this guy, I just had to share. Happy Easter everyone and I hope you will all enjoy your chocolates and candies :o)!

Heather Ross,Far Far Away is here!

I am really, really happy to tell you that I have just received a small quantity of Heather Ross, Far Far Away fabric collection! It is truly beautiful fabric! The double gauze is oh so soft and the design... Well, Heather has been one of my most favorite American designers for a long time!! I am sure many of you know by now that Heather will not be designing fabric for the foreseeable future and this line will be her last. I only have about 10 yards per bolt and only 5 of the bolts that I bought. I am hoping the rest will arrive soon, possibly in the middle of May :)

Farbenmix Gabriella pattern

This weekend I finally had some time to sew again. Just in time to try out the Gabriella pattern that I have new in the shop. This dress is not super easy to sew, all though if you would omit some of the details such as the collar and the buckles on the sleeves, it would be suitable for people who are relatively new to sewing as well.
I made Ella the dress in 110-116 and the fit is really nice! Ella got big round eyes when I came out of the sewing room with the dress. I know she'll want to wear it a lot :)
